Gluten Intolerance Group and Camp Kanata pictures
Well, Michelle and I have had a very busy week with orders and donating cakes to great causes! We are so happy to be apart of the GIG group and the Gluten free week at Camp Kanata. Here are some pictures of the cakes and cupcakes that we made for the events. Of course, we forgot to take pictures at the event. We put our cupcakes in our travel container, we wanted to make sure our cupcakes survived the 2 hour drive to Winston Salem. And yes, we got lost!!! But we eventually ended up making it to the GIG event. Here is Michelle icing up the cupcakes before I decorate them with our allergy friendly homemade fondant!
Lori putting the final touches on the cupcakes
The cupcakes in their cute little travel container -- thanks Mom & Dad! Cupcakes flavor: vanilla cupcake with strawberry frosting, carrot cupcake with vanilla frosting topped with shredded coconut, chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting, and a chocolate filled cupcake with more chocolate frosting... yum And all of them are gluten free, wheat free, egg free, dairy free, peanut free, casein free, lactose free, bean free and whey free.

Michelle packing up the cupcakes
Lori with all the lovely cupcakes getting ready to pack them up
Next day, we baked a half sheet cake for the gluten free week at Camp Kanata! It was a moist delicious chocolate cake with more chocolate frosting!! Here is the cake just out of the oven and cooling.
Cake after frosting put on... now time for more decorations
Here is the final cake for all the campers!!!
We heard from Debbie that our chocolate cake was a HUGE hit with all the campers and staff! One of the best gluten free cakes they ever tasted! So good job sis.... we worked hard.... now time for farmers markets tomorrow and Saturday and more cupcake orders... yeah...

The Benenfits of Coconut Water and why the Twins love it
Michelle and I drink a lot of coconut water. Some pure -straight from real coconut or from bottled coconut water. Though drinking coconut water straight from the natural source is the best, the bottled coconut water that you can find in Whole Foods or other natural health food stores is still as good. We recommend the brands ZICO or One. Since we are very active people we need to keep our bodies hydrated so that is why we drink coconut water at least once or twice a day. The twins encourage everyone to include more coconut and coconut water into their diets! Your body will be happy you did!
Here are some benefits of drinking coconut water:
- is naturally low in carbs and low in sugars
- keeps the body cool and at the proper temperature
- naturally replenish your body's fluids after exercising
- boost your immune system
- contains essential electrolytes
- has more potassium than a banana
- weight-loss aid
- skin, hair, and nail health
- alkaline balance
- kidney cleansing
